What is NLP?
NLP stands for Neuro Linguistic Programming. Neuro refers to the fact that our brain functions using billions of interconnecting neurons. Linguistic refers to the fact that we use language as a way of making sense of and filtering much of the data we are exposed to. Programming refers to the fact that based upon our experiences we all run differing programs and therefore have differing beliefs.
How can it help?
NLP was founded in the 1970's when Richard Bandler and John Grinder wanted to find out how outstanding therapists got the excellent results they did, simply through the use of language. They called their findings the Meta Model. It was the first of many models.
NLP believes you can model any excellent behaviour, and consequently train others in such excellence. NLP will help you model others who perform in a way you wish to perform. It will also help you model yourself, so you can understand how you function and how to change and improve quickly.
